Independent Coach Checklist

Welcome to our facility. To maintain a safe, professional, and fully compliant environment, all independent coaches must submit the following documents to the Rink Director and receive official approval before conducting any private lessons on our ice.

• Certificate of Insurance (COI):
  
  • Must show proof of General Professional Liability Insurance.
  • Our rink must be explicitly named as an "Additional Insured" on the policy.
• Independent Contractor Agreement:
  
  • A fully signed and dated contract between the coach and the rink.
  • Must acknowledge rink rules, agreed-upon ice fees (sub-lease or coach ice fees), and the facility code of conduct.

• Current Membership:
  
  • Proof of an active, current-season coach-level membership through at least one of the following recognized governing bodies:
    
    • U.S. Figure Skating (USFS / USFSA)
    • Ice Skating Institute (ISI)
    • International Skating Union (ISU)

• Background Check Verification:
  
  • Documented proof of a cleared, verified background screening completed through your respective approved governing body within the current skating season.
• SafeSport Certification:
  
  • A copy of your up-to-date certificate showing completion of the annual SafeSport abuse prevention training (or equivalent international athlete protection certification for international governing bodies).

Submission Instructions: Please compile all items into a single packet (or PDF) and return them to the Skating Director via email. Digital compliance dashboards or cards that bundle membership, background checks, and safety certifications into one verified document are accepted, provided they show active status for the current season.
